Group Fitness

St. Francis Health and Recreation Center offers a diversified group of classes specializing in the instruction of fitness, wellness and lifetime sports activities. With 20 classes per week, members and guests can take advantage of classes in a wide variety of offerings including:

Whether you are a beginner, a senior, or at a very high level of fitness, we have a class for you. Our classes will give you the benefits of working on your physical fitness, helping you to improve skills, establishing friendships and developing positive lifelong habits.

__________________ Aquatic Fitness Classes

Arthritis Classes: (Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program)
This class is designed to decrease the pain and stiffness caused by arthritis while providing a fun, social opportunity in the pool.
Times: 10 - 11 a.m. M/W/F
Special Arthritis Class Fees:

AquaRobics:
Let the water cushion your workout! This class will get your heart rate up and be kind to your joints. This low-impact, high energy class is taught in our heated pool. Swimming skills are not necessary.

8 - 9 p.m. ... T/TH

Cardio Cross Training:
No Class June - September 2008
This class is for all ability levels. The class is a combination of step workouts, and strength/toning training using hand weights and dynabands. The instructor will provide simple and advanced options for all participants.

Body Sculpting in the weight roomBody Sculpting
(Weight Room)
A fun way to weight train in a group setting. This is an excellent way for you to improve your health, improve your strength, gain better body awareness, improve your posture and burn more calories. We use machines, free weights and sometimes, the exercise ball.
Times: 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. ... T/TH
Cost: $90
(4 month session, up to two classes per week)

Sport Yoga
Video Only Class for the summer
Sport Yoga is a combination of Hatha Yoga, Pilates mat exercises and Tai Chi warm-ups. Yoga is a relaxing way to improve your strength, balance, flexibility and relieve stress.
Times: 5:30--6:30 p.m. ... M/W
Cost: Member - $10
..... . .Non-member - $30

(4-month session; up to two classes per week)

Ball Class - limited to 10 participants
The Ball Class will help you tone, give you better posture, and strengthen your back and stomach muscles.
Times: 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. ... Mondays
Cost: $45 (4-month session; up to one class per week)

 

Class Registration Policies

  • All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Phone registrations must be paid by debit or credit card. (we accept Visa or Mastercard)
  • Registration for classes begins approximately four weeks (five weeks for current participants) prior to the first class. Exact registration dates will be posted.
  • Once a class is full, spots will not be added. This is to prevent over crowding in the class areas.

Cancelation Policy

  • Lessons and fitness classes - Must cancel at least two weeks prior to the first scheduled class meeting. Fees will only be credited for future programs. Service fee applied:
    $10 lessons, $20 fitness classes.
  • No cancellation inside of two weeks prior to the first scheduled class. Credits or refunds will not be applied.

No credits, refunds or transfers on any membership. Credits are available for classes. See above for details. Refunds will only be available if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
